Usher's Stepson Declared Brain Dead After Jet-Ski Accident

Things went from bad to worse for Kiie Glover, Usher's 11-year-old stepson. After a tragic Jet Ski accident left the <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/07/08/ushers-son-injured-in-jet-ski-accident/">youngster in critical condition</a> on Friday, doctors have now declared him brain dead.<a href="http://www.tmz.com/2012/07/08/usher-tameka-foster-stepson-brain-dead/" target=="_blank">TMZ</a> is reporting that Glover, who is the son of Usher's ex-wife, Tameka Foster, has not experienced any brain activity since he was admitted into the hospital two days ago. According to reports, the pre-teen and a friend were floating in inner tubes on Lake Lanier in Atlanta when they were struck by a man on a Jet Ski. Glover was unresponsive when he was taken out of the water and airlifted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston; his friend, an unidentified 15-year old girl, was treated for a cut on the head and a broken arm.According to the <a href="http://www.ajc.com/news/reports-ushers-stepson-injured-1473926.html" target="_blank">Atlanta Journal-Constitution,</a> the Georgia Department of Natural Resources said that alcohol doesn't appear to have been a factor in the accident and the newspaper also reported that the man on the Jet Ski and Glover were part of the same group on an outing at the lake.Foster and Usher (born Usher Raymond) were married in 2007 but divorced in 2009. The two are reportedly both present at the hospital.Many of Usher and Foster's celebrity friends took to Twitter on Sunday (July 8) to express their deepest sympathies."My deepest prayers go out to Tameka, Usher and both of their families right now," Diggy Simmons wrote."Wishing @TamekaRaymond's son godspeed recovery. horrible news to hear," Roots drummer Questlove added, while television personality La La Anthony wrote: "Praying for @TamekaRaymond and her family. Asking to give her and her family strength during this difficult time. Doc will reportedly take fans inside the superstar's life and career with blend of concert footage and confessional interviews.

The pop diva is reportedly shopping a documentary feature about her life and career that she will star in, direct and produce.<div class="player-placeholder right" title="Beyoncé - "Love on Top"" isvevo="true" isrc="USSM21101548" id="vid:702484" width="415" height="255"></div>The <a href="http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/movies/moviesnow/la-et-mn-beyonce-to-direct-star-in-a-documentary-20120801,0,1760231.story" target="_blank">Los Angeles Times</a> reports that Beyoncé's agents at ICM are looking for distribution for a documentary focusing on her life and career that would blend performance footage with confessional interviews. A source close to the film, who was not authorized to talk about it publicly, revealed that 20 minutes of footage has been shown to prospective distributors.Beyoncé previously starred in, but did not direct, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/videos/beyonce-year-of-4/1666691/playlist.jhtml">"Beyoncé: Year of 4,"</a> a reflective MTV documentary that chronicled the star's return to the studio to make her hit 2011 album 4 after taking a year off. "My life was award shows and tour buses and hotels, and it kind of goes by so fast. I couldn't even hear it anymore," <a href="/news/articles/1666569/beyonce-year-of-4.jhtml">she says</a> in the film. "It was very risky for me to set out on my own. Sometimes we don't reach for the stars, sometimes we are satisfied with what people tell us we're supposed to be satisfied with, and I'm just not going for it."Much has happened in the year-plus since "Year of 4" was produced for the star to explore in a feature-length film. Beyonce Backs U.N.'s World Humanitarian Day: Watch Now!

Singer will film live music video for 'I Was Here' to support campaign.

Last week, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/knowles_beyonce/artist.jhtml">Beyoncé</a> posted a <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2012/07/26/beyonce-posts-mysterious-announcement-wipes-hard-drives-when-she-leaves-studio/">mysterious message</a> on her website that simply read, "Leave your footprint on 19 August 2012."The cryptic note had many fans wondering just what Queen B might be up to come mid-August. Well, the answer is here, and Beyoncé not only wants her Beyhive to leave their footprint that day, but she'll also be doing the same.<iframe width="415" height="233" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/yPPBKyIceWY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>The superstar has joined forces with the United Nations and humanitarian aid organizations for World Humanitarian Day on August 19. It is "a global day to celebrate humanity and the spirit of people helping people," according to a press release.The VMA-nominated singer will be in New York City for the big celebration, along with her "I Was Here" songwriter, Diane Warren. The ladies will be on hand at the U.N. General Assembly Hall to film a live music video for the 4 ballad that they will then donate to the cause. It will be released that same day.Beyoncé appears in a black-and-white PSA for the campaign. A close-up of her face, sporting the <a href="/news/articles/1689944/beyonce-baby-blue-ivy.jhtml">braids she debuted a few weeks back</a>, shows her outdoors. "It's high time we rise together," she says. "Do one thing for another human being — nothing is too small. It begins with each of us. Make your mark and say 'I was here.' " Also including footage of people across the world, the message closes out with the track playing and the diva saying, "One day, one message, 1 billion taking action for each other. I'll see you then."The <a href="http://www.whd-iwashere.org" target="_blank">World Humanitarian Day website</a> launched this week allows folks to post the "individual acts of good" they have done in their communities. By the day of the event, they hope to reach 1 billion people with a single message. Communities will do their part through commemorations and public events."We all see the headlines, and we think, 'What can I really do to help?' " Beyoncé said in a statement. "World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity for all of us to work together to make a difference. This is our time to leave our mark on the world and show that we were here and we care."

Last month, seemingly against the will of his employer, super producer Dr. Luke leaked a snippet of a song called <a href="/news/articles/1686772/kesha-supernatural-single.jhtml">"Supernatural,"</a> a walloping slab of electro-pop presumably set to be featured on <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/kesha_/artist.jhtml">Ke$ha</a>'s long-in-the-works new album.<div class="player-placeholder right" title="Ke$ha Says New Album Will Be ' Balls-Out, Irreverent Rock'" id="vid:652875" width="415" height="255"></div>"You leaked my song about me having sexy time with a ghost!" Ke$h subsequently tweeted at Luke." Now everyone knows I get it on with ghosts!"Of course, we're assuming Ke$ha was just feigning outrage at the sneak peek, because in an interview in the new issue of Rolling Stone, she speaks in-depth about her upcoming album (tentatively due later this year), saying that it melds her Auto-Tuned, pop-heavy past with her current, <a href="/news/articles/1663946/kesha-new-album.jhtml">classic rock-indebted present</a>."I want it to be a mix of what works on the radio and what I listen to in my spare time," she said. "I'm on a steady diet of T. But some songs on the new record are more personal and vulnerable," she said. "And you can hear more of the music I listen to when I'm lying in my bed. I'm not claiming that it's a rock record, but as long as it's f---ing good, you can call it whatever you want."And though Ke$ha's worked hard at cultivating her hard-partying persona, her new album is very much a labor of love ... not to mention a nod to the naysayers who dismissed her as nothing more than a flash in the pan."About 90 percent of the time, I don't give a f---. The podium at the 2012 <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/2012/summer_jam_games">MTV News Summer Jam Games</a> is crowded with some of the biggest stars on the planet, each representing their respective genres with the hottest hits of the season. Nearly 740,000 votes were cast across the five categories (hip-hop, R&B, EDM, rock and pop) resulting in a winners' list led by both fan-favorite veteran acts and relative newcomers.So who took home the gold in our Summer Jam Games? Well fans came out in full force for their acts, but only five acts could go home with gold.<div class="player-placeholder right" title="Justin Bieber - "As Long As You Love Me featuring Big Sean"" isvevo="true" isrc="USUV71201064" id="vid:820040" width="415" height="255"></div>Check out the winners below:<big>Hip-Hop: "Lemme See" Usher, featuring Rick Ross</big> Just as it is in sports, sometimes years of practice and perseverance pay off. Such is the case with MTV Video Music Award nominee (for "Climax") Usher, whose jam "Lemme See," featuring Rick Ross, bested its nearest competition ("Mercy" by G.O.O.D. Music featuring 2 Chainz), to take the <a href="/news/articles/1690878/kanye-west-2-chainz-summer-jam-games.jhtml">hip-hop Summer Jam</a> gold medal. With nearly 20 years of blockbuster hits under his belt, Usher proved to be the Michael Phelps of our Summer Jam Games — a heavily decorated veteran who's still winning top honors when he gets in the game.<big>R&B: "Thinkin Bout You," Frank Ocean</big> With three VMA noms and one of the most acclaimed albums of the year, Ocean is enjoying a very big moment right now. That energy carried him not only to the top of the album charts, but also to victory in <a href="/news/articles/1690974/frank-ocean-summer-jam-games.jhtml">our R&B category</a>. Ocean took nearly half of all votes cast in the category and 12,000-plus votes more than his nearest competitor, silver medalist JoJo, whose "Demonstrate" did just that. Combined, Ocean and JoJo accounted for more than 92 percent of all votes in an R&B field that included Leah La Belle, The-Dream and Trey Songz.<big>EDM: "Lights," Ellie Goulding</big> Goulding took her time to break here in the U.S., but once the Brit beauty's ethereal dance jam "Lights" started to catch on, it set the charts on fire. In its 32nd week on the Billboard Hot 100, the song remains at #5, and the continued popularity of "Lights" catapulted the song to the <a href="/news/articles/1691127/ellie-goulding-lights-summer-jam-games.jhtml">top of the EDM heap</a>, besting some of the genre's biggest stars, including Eric Prydz, Porter Robinson, David Guetta, Avicii and Calvin Harris, to take the Summer Jam gold.<div class="player-placeholder right" title="Ellie Goulding - "Lights"" isvevo="true" isrc="GBUV71006926" id="vid:695917" width="415" height="255"></div><big>Rock: "Settle Down," No Doubt</big> If there was any question that No Doubt is back in the biggest possible way, look no further than the showing of "Settle Down" in the <a href="/news/articles/1691141/summer-jam-games-best-rock-song-no-doubt.jhtml">Summer Jam Games rock category</a>. The rock contenders were a "who's who" of titans in the genre, from Jack White to the Killers, but in the end, Gwen, Tony, Adrian and Tom prevailed over their closest competitor, Green Day's "Oh Love," with their infectious return to music; it's also the lead single from Push and Shove, the band's first album since 2001's Rock Steady.<big>Pop: "As Long As You Love Me," Justin Bieber, featuring Big Sean</big> Far and away the most voted-upon category, the competition for <a href="/news/articles/1690739/summer-jam-games-pop-one-direction-carly-rae-jepsen.jhtml">top of the pops</a> was fierce. In the end, Justin Bieber and One direction left everyone else in the dust, accounting for nearly 95 percent of the total vote. Of all the images that make up the video for <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a>'s <a href="/news/articles/1690963/justin-bieber-as-long-as-you-love-me-music-video-premiere.jhtml">"As Long As You Love Me,"</a> none are as memorable as the moment that Michael Madsen lands his first punch on the singer.Madsen's overprotective-father character may have enjoyed leaving Bieber bloody for wanting to date his daughter, but in real life, the actor said he didn't take any pleasure in the one-two punch."I didn't exactly enjoy slapping him around," he told MTV News on Thursday, one day after the video premiered. "Had he been a prick, had he been a brat, you know, I might have had fun with that. But he was actually, he was the opposite."<div class="player-placeholder right" title="Michael Madsen Has A Soft Spot For Justin Bieber" id="vid:822276" width="415" height="255"></div>If fans are wondering if Bieber was nervous to take a beating for the <a href="/news/articles/1690932/justin-bieber-as-long-as-you-love-me-video.jhtml">Anthony Mandler-directed clip</a>, Madsen explained that Bieber was more concerned about having it look real than scared to take the hit."He was very respectful, very respectful and decent to me," he said. "I think he wanted it to be well-done. I don't think he was blowing it off. I think that I've been around enough to know I can tell if somebody isn't really doing their job or taking what they do seriously. And I could tell from early on in the morning that he was. He wanted it to be right. He wanted it to be specific and had a good car, a '68 Charger. That's a pretty bitching car, you know? I saw that damn thing parked in front of the house and I went 'Wow, I hope that's mine.' But they put me in a Rolls Royce; not too bad at all."So, given that Bieber and Madsen trade physical barbs and verbal ones, does the actor think Bieber has a future in Hollywood? "He had good eye contact. He was focused. He didn't have a double. I think he should leave the acting up to me," he laughed. "He can sing though. See I can't do that. It goes both ways. He can sing his head off and he's damn good at it, and I couldn't get close to that.
